Bodyguard, Salman khan film proves critics wrongs, earns Rs 100 crore at box office in just six days. It is the biggest grosser in the making
Bodyguard, Salman khan’s latest film is breaking all previous records. The six day collection of the film at box offices across the country had crossed 100 crore rupees.
Pundits in the Hindi filmdom are eating their words as they are forced to accept that Salman Khan is a phenomenon that no one can stop. Not at least the breed labeled as film critics who try to downplay the reigning superstar on every opportunity that comes that way.
The Bodyguard box office collection so far has been the fastest for the Indian film industry. Rs 100 crore in six days flat is a remarkable achievement and I am sure for the next five to six weeks the film is going to be the top grosser at the box office, surpassing 3 Idiot’s collection of close to 300 crore rupees, thus becoming the highest grossing film ever.
In the meantime there are reasons to believe that the ailing superstar is mending his relations with others in the film industry. Shah Rukh Khan his onetime bĂȘte noir wished him well when Salman was leaving for US to undergo surgery. Shah Rukh told media persons that he and others in the industry will ensure that the film performs well.
Though we are sure that the film didn’t require any one’s help, nonetheless, Shah Rukh Khan’s comment seems to have broken the ice between the two big superstars.
Salman on his part reciprocated by saying that he wished Shah Rukh Khan’s forthcoming film Ra One to be the biggest hit of the Indian cinema.
Meanwhile the critics who panned film are licking their wounds. Nikhat Kazmi of Times of India badly criticized Salman Khan’s film saying “When the romantic track has almost bored you to death, you have an equally lame comedy track to frustrate you”.
Another film critic Komal Nath too didn’t had anything good to say about the movie. He tried to put his words in film goers’ mouths by saying, “one of so much convenience that the audience is left with a feeling of incompleteness”. He was also not impressed with the film’s plot and said that the film was “kiddish and irritating”.
